2008 Rally - "Girl Scouts Go Greener" @ Seabreeze Park
Is your troop looking for a great way to wrap up their Girl Scout year?
We invite you to join us at the 4th Annual GSGV Girl Scout Rally.
The picnic grove behind the Bumper Cars is Girl Scout Rally “home base”
Council staff will be at this site from 10:45a.m. - 4p.m.

11:00a.m.   Opening Ceremony

11:15a.m.   “Trashy” Fashion Show - on Project Greenway
                       Recyclable Outfits designed by the girls! Prizes to be awarded!

“What’s Wrong with this Campsite Challenge” and our “Trash to Treasure Craft Table”          
… until 3pm in the picnic grove and don’t forget the rides and water park are open until 10p.m.
Special discount tickets go on sale only at the Girl Scout Shops starting May 1st.

These all day Ride and Slide tickets are just $15 each and will be honored by Seabreeze from
June 14th through June 27th.  Tell your family and friends, because this price is available to everybody!

Calling all Girl Scouts from all over New York State: Join Us on the 27th @ Seabreeze. 
If you are coming in from another Council, consider spending the night at our Program Center.

Contest Rules:

1.   Enter on your own or put together a “design team”…reality check: multiple designers would       share the prize.  Be sure to enter (required) your outfit before June 25, 2008 on line at              http://gsgv.homestead.com/08Seabreeze.html or by contacting us at 292-5160.

2.   Design and model a wearable outfit made from at least 75% recyclable or recycled materials       please,no vintage clothing.  Create your outfit before the event or arrive early and put it           together on site.  A limited amount of supplies will be on hand for registered participants. 

3.   Bring a short description on a 3 x 5 card, please include:
  • Model Name, Design Team members, Troop # and Age Level
  • A “colorful” description of materials used to make the outfit i.e. “Tara is wearing…”

4.   *Age Level Categories for prizes – Brownies, Juniors, Older Girls, and Leaders. 
  • Multi-level design teams should enter at age level of oldest member. 
  • Council staff competition held for your entertainment!

5.   Outfit Material Guidelines - Just about anything goes:
  • Old books, magazines, newspaper, phone books, junk mail, homework, post it notes, cardboard, bubble wrap, egg cartons, etc…
  • Old CD’s, tapes, records, floppy disks – cassette and video tape/ribbon
  • Duct tape, aluminum cans, plastic bottles, grocery bags (paper or plastic) trash bags, old socks, old mini-blinds, shower curtains or flannel-backed table cloth, etc…
  • Or any combination of the above!

Get on I-390 North and continue north to I-590 North.  Take 590 North to its end at Lake Ontario. At the end of 590 North turn left onto Culver Road. Seabreeze will be on the left, 500 yards ahead.
