Camp Director
Position Description:
Manage the operations of the camp. Train, supervise and evaluate staff and campers. Responsible for effective communication, leadership and programming for campers, families and staff. Includes pre-season responsibilities. Requires equivalent of Bachelors degree and a minimum age of 21 plus at least two years of camp administration experience; or, two years of camp administration experience and a minimum age of 25 (age requirements per NYSDOH). Valid NYS driver license approved by our insurance carrier.
Assist the Camp Director with staff training, supervision, and managing day-to-day operations. Manage petty cash, inventory and financial records. Min. age 21 and valid NYS driver license approved by our insurance carrier.
RESIDENT CAMP- at Camp Pinewood
Nestled in the hills of the Finger Lakes region you will find Camp Pinewood. Located 50 minutes south of Rochester, NY, Camp Pinewood is situated on over 700 acres of scenic woods with a ropes challenge course, swimming pool and large pond for canoeing and boating. Resident Camp positions are for four weeks and staff live on-site with room and board provided.
Season runs July 6 to August 2, 2008.
Supervise the health and safety of campers and staff. Maintain health records, supervise medication administration, and provide first aid. Assist with other camp activities as needed. Must be currently NYS licensed EMT, LPN or RN and hold current First Aid and CPR for the professional rescuer certifications. Min. age 21.
Assist the Health Director with medical issues and needs. Must have Red Cross Responding to Emergency certification. Assist with other camp activities as needed. Min. age 18 and valid NYS driver license approved by our insurance carrier.
Coordinate and implement well-rounded nature study programs for campers. Requires environmental and ecological knowledge. Assist with other camp activities as needed. Provide leadership for activities and provide direct supervision for campers. Min. age 18.

Arts & Crafts Specialist-
Coordinate and implement well-rounded nature study programs for campers. Requires environmental and ecological knowledge. Assist with other camp activities as needed. Provide leadership for activities and provide direct supervision for campers. Min. age 18.
Develop and implement a safe high and low ropes challenge course, climbing and team building program. Ensures safety of participants. Requires ropes course training or certification. Assist with other camp activities as needed, including leadership for activities and direct supervision for campers. Min. age 21.
Provide the archery instruction sessions. Ensure safety of participants. Assist with other camp activities as needed, including leadership for activities and direct supervision for campers.
Must have training in archery skills. Min. age 18.

Must hold current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor and Waterfront Lifeguard certifications. Must be trained in boating and canoeing- American Canoe Association (or equivalent) canoe certified preferred, plus have current Waterfront Lifeguard certification. Supervise the daily health and safety of campers. Responsible for leading and supervising activities. Works with camp management to coordinate and plan weekly schedules and activities. Ensures girls are included in, engaged in and learning from activities. Min. age 18.
Provide direct supervision of campers. Ensure safety. Participate in and lead activities and ensure girls are included in activities. Min. age 18.
Supervise all aspects of camp food service including meal preparation, planning, purchasing and supervision of kitchen staff. Ensures kitchen and food services meet regulations while being appealing and healthy for campers. Assist with other camp activities as needed. Min. age 21.
Assist with camp food service, including meal preparation, dining room set-up and adhering to food service guidelines. Assist with other camp activities as needed. Min. age 18.
Assist with food preparation, meal and box lunch set up and clean up, and general kitchen area maintenance. Wash dishes. Assist with other camp activities as needed. Min. age 16.

PROGRAM CAMPS at Camp Pinewood

$7.25 - $7.75 per hour
Supervise the daily health and safety of campers. Responsible for leading and supervising activities. Coordinate daily schedules and activities. Ensures girls are included in, engaged in and learning from activities. Min. age 18.
Jr. Counselors- Piperwood
Provide direct supervision of assigned campers. Ensure safety. Help lead and demonstrate activities. Min. age 17.
Lifeguard- Dogwood
Week Only
Provide a safe waterfront program. Must hold current American Red Cross Lifeguard and Waterfront Lifeguard Certifications or Equivalent. Min age 18.
